Addition and Subtraction Sentences to 10: Which is True?

๐Ÿค” Fact or Fib? It's time to be a judge! You will look at a number sentence and decide if it is telling the truth (a fact) or a lie (a fib).

Concept

The equals sign(=) is the most important part of a number sentence.It means "is the same as".Both sides of the equals sign must balance perfectly.

How to be a Judge: 1. Look at the Sentence: For example, 6 + 3 = 9 . 2. Solve One Side: Solve the part before the equals sign. 6 + 3 is 9. 3. Compare: Is that the same as the number on the other side ? Yes, 9 is the same as 9. 4. Make Your Judgment: The sentence is a Fact(True) !

 Another Example:
*    Sentence: 8 - 2 = 5
  *    Solve: 8 - 2 is 6.
    *    Compare: Is 6 the same as 5 ? No!
      *    Judgment : The sentence is a  Fib(False)  !
