Read a Calendar
š Weeks, months, and years! Let's learn how a calendar organizes all the days so we know exactly when our birthdays are coming up.
Concept
A calendar is like a giant map of time. It helps us track days, weeks, and months. šÆ **The Parts of a Calendar:** 1. **The Month:** Look at the big word at the top (like "January" or "October"). There are 12 months in a whole year! 2. **The Days of the Week:** Look at the top row (Sun, Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat). 3. **The Dates:** The numbers in the boxes are the "dates". They tell you exactly which day of the month it is. šÆ **How to Read It:** If you want to find out what day of the week October 15th is: * Find the box with the number "15". * Run your finger straight UP the column from the number 15. * Read the day of the week at the very top of that column! (Maybe it says "Tue" for Tuesday).
