Number Lines - Up to 100

šŸ›£ļø Welcome to the number highway! Number lines look a little different when they go all the way to 100. Sometimes they zoom out and skip numbers!

Lesson 4

Concept

We used small number lines (1-20) to jump like frogs. But a number line that goes to 100 is too long for a single page! We need to zoom out. šŸŽÆ **"Zoomed Out" Number Lines:** A number line up to 100 might not show every single number! Instead of counting by 1s... it might count by 10s! * Look at the tick marks: 10 --- 20 --- 30 --- 40 šŸŽÆ **Finding the Middle (The 5s):** If a number line only shows 10, 20, 30... where is the number 15? It's exactly halfway in the middle between 10 and 20! Sometimes there is a medium-sized tick mark right in the middle to help you find the 5s. When you look at a big number line, the first thing you must do is figure out the pattern. Is it going by 1s? 5s? 10s? Once you crack the pattern, you can figure out where any empty point is on the line.
