A fact family uses 3 numbers: Example numbers: 2, 3, 5 Family facts: ā¢ 2 + 3 = 5 ā¢ 3 + 2 = 5 ā¢ 5 - 2 = 3 ā¢ 5 - 3 = 2 šÆ **Key idea:** Addition puts parts together. Subtraction takes a part from the whole.
