🟦 Rectangle - 4 right angles - opposite sides equal and parallel

🟨 Square - 4 equal sides - 4 right angles - is a special rectangle and a special rhombus

🟪 Rhombus - 4 equal sides - opposite angles equal

šŸ”¶ Trapezoid - at least one pair of parallel sides

šŸ”· Kite - two pairs of adjacent equal sides

🌟 Key idea: One shape can belong to multiple groups.

Try it

Classify each shape by all names that apply.

1. 4 equal sides and 4 right angles 2. Opposite sides parallel, no right angles required 3. Exactly one pair of parallel sides 4. 4 right angles, opposite sides equal

Draw: 5. Draw a trapezoid. 6. Draw a rhombus that is not a square. 7. Draw a rectangle that is not a square.
