Lesson 83 of 186

Concept

Comparing lengths means looking at two measurements and figuring out the DIFFERENCE between them.

🎯 The "How Much Longer?" Strategy: Example: A toy snake is 12 inches long. A toy spider is 3 inches long. How much longer is the snake?

1. Measure Both: We did that! Snake = 12. Spider = 3. 2. Find the Difference: "How much longer" ALWAYS means subtraction! (Big number minus Small number). 3. The Math: 12 inches - 3 inches = 9 inches. 4. Answer: The snake is 9 inches longer than the spider!

*Bonus: The spider is 9 inches shorter than the snake!*

Try it

Find the difference!
