Put Numbers in Order (Up to 1,000)

šŸ† Let the race begin! Who came in first place? Who came in last? You have to organize an entire list of massive numbers.

Lesson 6

Concept

Putting a giant list of numbers in order takes patience. šŸŽÆ **The Sorting Strategy:** **List: [450, 412, 608, 480]** Order them from Least (Smallest) to Greatest (Biggest). 1. **Find the absolute smallest:** Look at all the Hundreds digits. (4, 4, 6, 4). The 6 is the biggest, so save that for last. 2. **Break the Ties:** We have three numbers starting with 4. Look at their Tens! * 450 (Has 5). * 412 (Has 1). * 480 (Has 8). 3. **Sort the Ties:** 412 is the smallest! Then 450. Then 480. 4. **Final Order:** **412, 450, 480, 608**. Always cross the numbers off the original list lightly with your pencil so you don't use the same number twice!
