Digits to Words (Up to 1,000)

āœļø The Check Writer! Now we are going backwards. Look at the math number, and write it out in English words!

Lesson 5

Concept

Most of the time, we write numbers with digits (452). But sometimes, you legally have to write things out in English! šŸŽÆ **The Check Writer Strategy:** **Number:** 386. Read it exactly as you would speak it, and spell the words out. 1. **Hundreds Block:** Look at the 3. Write exactly what it is. "Three hundred". 2. **Tens Block:** Look at the 8. It's an 80, so write the "ty" word. "eighty". 3. **The Hyphen Rule!** Always put a tiny dash (a hyphen) between the Tens word and the Ones word! 4. **Ones Block:** Look at the 6. "six". 5. **Final Answer:** "Three hundred eighty-six". šŸŽÆ **The Teen Nightmare:** If the middle number is a 1, burn the hyphen rule. You just use the "teen" word. 314 -> "Three hundred fourteen".
