Compare Two Clocks

ā±ļø The Time Travel Test! Look at two different clocks. Which one shows an EARLIER time? Which one is LATER?

Lesson 2

Concept

Comparing clocks means figuring out which time happened FIRST in the day, and which one happened LATER. šŸŽÆ **The Comparing Strategy:** 1. **Always check AM vs PM first!** * 11:00 AM always happens before 1:00 PM! (Morning is before afternoon). 2. **If both are AM (or both are PM): Check the Hour!** * 4:00 is earlier than 8:00. * 12 is the tricky one! 12:30 PM is right at lunch... 2:00 PM is after lunch! (12 happens BEFORE 1, 2, and 3 on the clock!). 3. **If the Hours match: Check the Minutes!** * 5:15 PM happens before 5:45 PM.

Try it

Which time came first? **Instructions:** Look at both times. Figure out which one happened EARLIER, and which happened LATER. **Problem 1:** Clock A: 8:15 AM (Breakfast) Clock B: 6:30 PM (Dinner) * Which time is EARLIER? (A or B) **Problem 2:** Clock A: 3:10 PM Clock B: 3:50 PM * The hours match perfectly. Check the minutes! * Which time is LATER? (A or B) **Problem 3:** Clock A: 12:15 PM Clock B: 1:30 PM * Watch the trap! Which happens first, 12 or 1? * Which time is EARLIER? (A or B) **Problem 4:** Clock A: 11:55 AM Clock B: 12:05 PM * Answer: Clock ___ is earlier!
