āš”ļø The Karate Chop! If you chop exactly ONE time through the center of an object, you are left with two perfect Halves!

Concept

The most famous fraction in the world is the **Half**. šŸŽÆ **The Rules of Halves:** 1. You must slice the shape perfectly into exactly **TWO** equal parts. 2. The math word for "Two equal parts" is **Halves**. 3. A single piece is called "One-Half"! (Written as **1/2**). * The bottom number (2) means "It was chopped into two total pieces!" * The top number (1) means "You get to eat one of those pieces!"

Karate chop the shapes! **Instructions:** Decide if the shape shows Halves! (Two equal pieces). **Problem 1:** A circle is chopped perfectly down the middle into 2 equal parts. * Does it show halves? (Yes / No) **Problem 2:** A square is chopped into 4 equal parts. * Does it show halves? (Wait! Halves means TWO parts!) * Answer: (Yes / No) **Problem 3:** A rectangle is chopped into 2 parts. One part is gigantic, one part is tiny. * Does it show halves? * (Hint: They must be equal!) * Answer: (Yes / No) **Problem 4:** If you eat 1/2 of a cookie, how many equal parts was the cookie chopped into originally? * (Look at the bottom number of 1/2!). * Answer: ___ parts.
