Concept

Examples: - x + 4 > 10 -> x > 6 - y - 7 ≤ 2 -> y ≤ 9 - 3a < 21 -> a < 7

Important rule: When multiplying or dividing both sides by a negative number, reverse the inequality sign.

Example: -2x > 8 Divide by -2 -> x < -4

Try it

Solve: 1. x + 5 < 12 2. y - 3 ≥ 9 3. 4a ≤ 20 4. -6b > 24 5. c/3 ≥ -2 6. -d < 7
