Fractions and decimals are two ways to write the same value. Division connects them.

Concept

To convert a fraction to a decimal, divide numerator by denominator.

Examples: - 3/4 = 3 ÷ 4 = 0.75 - 7/10 = 0.7 - 9/100 = 0.09

Friendly denominators: - /10 means tenths - /100 means hundredths

Some fractions create repeating decimals: - 1/3 = 0.333... - 2/9 = 0.222...
