Concept

Fractions can look totally different but actually be exactly the same size! These are called Equivalent Fractions.

For example, if you eat 1/2 of a pizza, that's exactly the same amount of food as eating 2/4 of a pizza, or 4/8 of a pizza. The slices are just cut smaller, but the total amount of pizza doesn't change!

Using a fraction wall makes this super easy to see. If you line up two 1/4 blocks, they perfectly match the length of one 1/2 block.
