Lesson 49 of 220

Concept

Distributive property: a Γ— (b + c) = (a Γ— b) + (a Γ— c)

Example: 7 Γ— 8 = 7 Γ— (5 + 3) = (7 Γ— 5) + (7 Γ— 3) = 35 + 21 = 56

Another: 6 Γ— 14 = 6 Γ— (10 + 4) = 60 + 24 = 84

Try it

Use distributive property: 1. 8 Γ— 7 using (5 + 2) 2. 9 Γ— 6 using (3 + 3) 3. 4 Γ— 13 using (10 + 3) 4. 7 Γ— 12 using (10 + 2)
