An analog clock has a round face with numbers from 1 to 12. It has two important hands: * The Short Hand: The Hour Hand. (It moves very slowly). * The Long Hand: The Minute Hand. (It moves faster).
🎯 Reading "O'Clock" ( :00 ) When the LONG minute hand points straight UP to the 12, it is "o'clock". The SHORT hour hand points directly at the hour! * Long hand on 12, short hand on 4 = 4:00.
🎯 Reading "Thirty" or "Half-Past" ( :30 ) When the LONG minute hand points straight DOWN to the 6, it has traveled exactly halfway around the clock. The minutes are "30". Let's check the short hand! Because it is halfway through the hour, the SHORT hour hand will be resting exactly halfway between two numbers! Look at the number it just passed. * Long hand on 6, short hand floating between 4 and 5 = The hour is still 4! The time is 4:30.
