Number lines - up to 100

Let's hop along the number line! 🐸 A number line is like a road for numbers. We can jump forward to count up and backward to count down. It's a great way to see where numbers live!

Lesson 1 of 186

Concept

A number line is a straight line with numbers placed in order at equal distances. It helps us see the relationship between numbers.

Visual: Imagine a long measuring tape stretched out on the floor.
*   It starts at 0 and goes up... 10, 20, 30, 40, all the way to 100!
* The little marks in between the tens are for the numbers in between, like 21, 22, 23.
How to Use It:
* Finding a number: To find the number 35, you would go to the 30 and then hop 5 more spaces.
* Counting on: If you are at 40 and want to add 5, you just take 5 hops forward to land on 45.
* Counting back: If you are at 60 and want to subtract 10, you take one big jump backward to land on 50.

Key Idea: Numbers on the left are smaller, and numbers on the right are bigger. A number line is a map for numbers!

Practice: Number lines - up to 100.
