If you look at a giant number like 843, you need to know the name of the room each digit lives in.

🎯 The House of Place Value: Starting from the RIGHT and moving LEFT: 1. The Ones Room (Far Right): The 3 lives here. It is just the number 3. 2. The Tens Room (Middle): The 4 lives here. It really means 40. 3. The Hundreds Room (Far Left): The 8 lives here. It really means 800.

Test Question: "Which digit is in the Tens place in the number 529?" * Point to the far right... that's Ones. (9). * Point perfectly in the middle. That's the Tens! * Answer: The 2 is in the tens place.
