Lesson 173 of 186

Concept

A square is flat, like a piece of paper. A CUBE pops out at you like a cardboard box!

🎯 The Cube Rules: 1. It is a 3D shape (it takes up space). 2. It has exactly 6 sides. 3. Every single side is a perfect Square!

(Wait, is a brick a cube? NO! A brick has long rectangle sides. A cube cannot have any long sides. It must be perfectly equal everywhere you look at it!).

Try it

Find the perfect box!

Instructions: Figure out if the real world object is a real Cube or not!

Problem 1: You see a picture of a regular 6-sided Dice (the kind you roll for board games). * Does it have 6 perfectly square sides? (Yes/No) * Is it a Cube? (Yes/No)

Problem 2: You see a picture of a cereal box. * The sides are very long rectangles. * Is it a Cube? (Yes/No)

Problem 3: You see a picture of an ice cube from the freezer. It melted a little and looks lopsided. * Math cubes must be perfect. If it's lopsided, is it a math cube? * Answer: (Yes/No)
