Value of a Digit - Up to Hundreds

šŸ’° How much is it REALLY worth? The number "5" might be worth five pennies... or it might be worth five hundred dollars! It depends on where it is standing.

Lesson 4

Concept

A digit is just a symbol. Its **VALUE** is how much it's actually worth. šŸŽÆ **The Value Change:** Look at the number **555**. It uses the exact same digit three times. Are they worth the same? NO! * The 5 on the right (Ones place) is worth **5**. * The 5 in the middle (Tens place) is worth **50**. * The 5 on the left (Hundreds place) is worth **500**! **Example:** What is the value of the 7 in the number **372**? * It is in the Tens room. 7 Tens. * **Answer: 70.**
