Do You Have Enough Money? (Up to $1.00)

๐Ÿ›’ The Toy Store Challenge! The toy you want costs exactly 85 cents. Empty your pockets. Add your coins. Do you have enough to buy it?

Lesson 1

Concept

This is the most important real-world math you will ever learn. You must compare your Total against the Price Tag. ๐ŸŽฏ **The Buying Check:** 1. **The Price Tag:** The bouncy ball costs **62ยข**. (The funny C with a line through it means Cents!). 2. **Your Hand:** You have 2 Quarters (50ยข) and 1 Dime (10ยข). 3. **Your Total:** 50 + 10 = **60ยข**. 4. **The Alligator Check:** 60 is LESS THAN 62. (60 < 62). 5. **Result:** NOT ENOUGH MONEY! The cashier will not give you the toy! You need exactly 62ยข or MORE to buy the toy.

Try it

Pass the cashier's test! **Instructions:** Add up the coins in your hand. Compare it to the price tag. Choose "Yes" or "No". **Problem 1:** Toy Price: 45ยข Your Hand: 1 Quarter, 2 Dimes. (25 + 10 + 10). * Your Total: ___ยข. * Do you have enough? (Yes / No) **Problem 2:** Toy Price: 75ยข Your Hand: 2 Quarters, 3 Dimes. * Your Total: 50 + 30 = ___ยข * Do you have enough? (Yes / No) **Problem 3:** Toy Price: 30ยข Your Hand: 1 Quarter, 4 Pennies. * Your Total: ___ยข * Wait! 29 is smaller than 30! * Do you have enough? (Yes / No) **Problem 4:** Toy Price: 99ยข Your Hand: 4 Quarters. (25, 50, 75, 100!). * (Wait! 100ยข is $1.00! It is bigger than 99ยข!). * Do you have enough? (Yes / No)
